Golden Dome Athletic Center, located at 42 Warren Street, between Downtown and University Heights in Newark, NJ 07102. The gym is the center of Rutgers-Newark athletics and teams, known as the Scarlet Raiders. The gym was established in 1977.

The Golden Dome Athletic Center possess two gyms, five outdoor tennis courts, four racquetball courts, an exercise/dance studio and a 25-yard, eight-lane pool. In addition is an alumni field across the street (Warren Street and University Avenue) for NCAA baseball, softball and soccer games, fields and track events, among other activities.

Golden Dome Athletic was designed to provide adequate and effective programs for the entire University constituencies, bearing the students, staffs, alumni and the community at-large, to enhance their overall quality of health through exercises.

Golden Dome Athletic offers programs and services such as: Athletic training, Boosters, Camps and Clinics, Compliance (NCAA & NJAC), Base ball classes for men and women, Basket ball, Cross Country, and workouts for group and individuals to return/keep you in great shape.

Golden Dome Athletic Centre also offers recreational classes ranging from yoga to scuba diving. The Center is accessible to those with special needs, and is dedicated in working towards full accessibility to ensure full participation.
